NOTIFICATION OF ROAD CLOSURE - Intersection of Lighthouse Road and Davis Crescent to Lighthouse, Port Macquarie - Monday 19th August 2024 - December 2024

What are the works?

Construction on the accessible walkways to provide inclusive access for community members and visitors to the Tacking Point Lighthouse. Formalising carparks and coastal walking track entrances.

Location of activity?

Works will be carried out surrounding the Lighthouse, walking tracks, and associated carparks. 

When is the activity scheduled to occur?

Works are scheduled to commence on Monday 19th August and anticipated to be completed during December 2024 (subject to wet weather and resources).

How will traffic be affected?

• Lighthouse Road will be closed to vehicles from Davis Crescent to Lighthouse.
• The Lighthouse and platform will be closed.
• Pedestrian access to Lighthouse Beach stairs, the existing street level lookout and the coastal walk will be maintained.
• Footpath access on Lighthouse Road will be accessible by pedestrians.

How will the community be informed?

• VMS boards will be in place from Tuesday 13th August.
• LiveTraffic has been updated.

Commencement of Works - between 163 & 169 Lake Road Port Macquarie

On Sunday 17 November 2024 from 7am to 4pm traffic stoppages (both directions) will be implemented for up to 5 minutes for power relocation and tree removal works. A number of stoppages will occur during the shift and will be spaced out accordingly dependent on traffic flows.

Changes to traffic arrangements during footpath construction works:

• Closure of merge lane on Lake Road, restricting traffic to one lane in east bound direction,
• Speed reduced to 40km/h,
• Roadside shoulder will be closed (no pedestrian access),
• Increased vehicle/truck movements,
• Motorists are encouraged to allow additional travel time and exercise caution when travelling through the site.
