Weekly road closures are in place until 31 July 2025 for major restoration work. The Oxley Highway will be closed between Knodingbul and Forbes River Roads at the following dates and times:

• Each Tuesday to Thursday from 7am to 4:30pm
• Each Friday from 7am to 3pm

The highway will remain open for special events, weekends, Mondays, during school holidays and public holidays.

Please note, when the highway is open there is ongoing slope stabilisation work in sections and motorists can only pass in one direction at a time and are advised to allow extra travel time.

PART ROAD CLOSURE ROCKS FERRY ROAD, WAUCHOPE, Friday 14th March to Wednesday 4th June 2025, 24 hours per day

What are the works?

• Embankment Stabilisation works, as part of the flood recovery project. 

When is the activity scheduled to occur?

• Work commenced Friday 14th March until Friday 13th June 2025, 24 hours per day.

How will traffic be affected?

• Stage 1 - Part Road closure (One Way traffic) Friday 14th March to Monday 14th April
• Traffic will travel from an east to west direction between the two Princess Avenue intersections.
• Traffic can circulate in a counter clockwise direction around Princess Avenue and Rocks Ferry Rd.
• Minimal impacts to travel times is expected.
• The part road closure will be implemented for 24hours per day until approximately Monday 14th April (weather dependent).
• Stage 2 - Part Road closure (One Way traffic) Tuesday 15th April to Wednesday 4th June
• Traffic will travel from an east to west direction between the western Princess Avenue intersection and the Randall St intersection.
• Traffic can circulate in a counter clockwise direction around Randall St, Oxley Hwy, Stoney Creek Rd and Princess Avenue.
• Minimal impacts to travel times is expected.
• The part road closure will be implemented for 24 hours per day starting from Monday 14th April (weather dependent).

How will the community be informed?

• Variable Message Boards (VMS) boards have been installed on Rocks Ferry Rd, Wauchope.
• Local residents directly affected have been informed of the works.
• Traffic Controllers Devices installed to convey traffic through the worksite.

• Dahlsford Drive intersection with Ocean Drive will be closed to allow construction of the future intersection as part of the Ocean Drive Duplication project.

• The works will be located at the intersection of Ocean Drive and Dahlsford Drive.

When is the activity scheduled to occur?

• Work is scheduled to commence 8.00pm Monday 5th May 2025 and is expected to be completed by Monday 25th August 2025. Construction activities will occur between the hours of 7am - 6pm Monday to Friday however the closure will remain in place for the entirety of the dates. All work is weather dependent.

How will traffic be affected?

• There will be no access to Dahlsford Drive at the intersection of Ocean Drive.
• Dahlsford Drive will be accessible via Pacific Drive and Livingstone Road.

What are the impacts for residents and businesses?

• Residents and businesses, including visitors will not be able to access Dahlsford Drive from Ocean Drive.
• Increased traffic at Livingstone Road intersection with Pacific Drive due to traffic detouring via this location
• Busways will retain their routes

NOTIFICATION OF LANE CLOSURES - Greenmeadows Drive (south) intersection with Ocean Drive Thursday 8th May 2025 - Friday 30th May 2025

What are the works?

• Asphalt works and pavement repairs at the Greenmeadows Drive (south) and Ocean Drive as part of the Ocean Drive Duplication project.

Location of activity?

• The works will be located at the intersection of Ocean Drive and Greenmeadows Drive (south). Note that Greenmeadows Drive connects with Ocean Drive in two places. The northern connection is a signalised intersection and will not be impacted by these works.

When is the activity scheduled to occur?

• Work is scheduled to commence Thursday 8th May 2025 and is expected to be completed by - Friday 30th May 2025. Construction activities will occur between the hours of 7am - 6pm Monday to Friday however the closure will remain in place for the entirety of the dates. All work is weather dependant. 

How will traffic be affected?

• There will be no right hand turn in or out of Greenmeadows Drive (south) at the intersection of Ocean Drive.
• Motorists exiting Greenmeadows Drive (south) wishing to head south should detour via the signalised intersection at Greenmeadows Drive (north) or head northbound and turn around using the Koala Street roundabout.
• Southbound motorists wishing to turn right into Greenmeadows Drive (south) should detour via the signalised intersection at Greenmeadows Drive (north) or continue southbound and turn around at the temporary roundabout at Maranatha Place and enter Greenmeadows Drive via the functioning left hand turn.

What are the impacts for residents and businesses?

• Residents and businesses, including visitors will not be able to turn right into Greenmeadows Drive (south) southbound from Ocean Drive. There will also be no right hand turn (southbound) out of Greenmeadows Drive (south)
• Increased traffic at Greenmeadows Drive (north) signalised intersection due to traffic detouring via this location
• Busways will retain their routes

Savoy Street will have one lane closed, and one lane under traffic control.

Reduced speed limit of 40 km/hr will be in place during the works.

How will traffic be affected?

Eastern Boundary Road will be closed in both directions at the bridge only.

Vehicles will be diverted to Bottle Brush Road, which reconnects to Bellangry Road - Council staff will drive this route before closing the road to ensure it is clear for vehicles.

No traffic control on site, however Council staff will be on site to turn vehicles around where required. 

There will be some construction noise with use of machinery.

Allow extra travel time, as there will be delays due to changed traffic conditions 

Residents will be able to get in and out via Bottle Brush Road.

A walkway is to be installed for pedestrians
